General Sales Terms
All items are NEW and in unused condition unless otherwise stated in the product listing. Some packaging may show signs of age and therefore, the item you receive may be in a package that has scuffs, bends, tears or other minor damage, but the contents will still be in new condition. Please note that we also from time to time buy decals and parts from other dealers as well as estates and therefore - packages may have some packaging damage, other dealer name or price tags on them. Again, these are still new and unused unless otherwise stated in the product listing. Items with seriously damaged boxes or packaging or other damage will be noted in the product listing - these items are generally available at reduced prices. Some detail parts we currently have in stock are in very old packaging as we have bought some estates and stock from closed hobby shops. These items are still new in the package, though their packages may be old and have some wear and tear. Stock numbers that have a NOS at the end means NEW OLD STOCK and are new - but very old stock. Stock numbers have have a NOP at the end means NOT ORIGINAL PACKAGING. These may be in a unmarked poly bag or another dealers own package.
Prices are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to cancel any sale price at any time and revert back to the regular price without any notice. A number of manufacturers have had multiple price increases over the past couple of years resulting in a large increase if I haven't restocked some items in a while. In most cases, I try to hold the old prices until new stock arrives. If you notice a low price compared to the current manufacturers price - take it as meaning that I haven't restocked recently and the price will go up once current stock is gone.
99% of the time, all items listed on the website are in stock and the quantities are accurate. Errors do occur and sometimes I enter the incorrect quantity when I receive new stock or items disappear or misplaced after they have been entered on the website. Sometimes I forget to remove items from the website that are sold offline.
If you have issues with a product you purchased from me - please contact me FIRST and do not send anything back unless I request it to be sent back. Most manufacturers ( primarily the rolling stock manufacturers ) prefer that the end customer contact them directly when there is an issue with their product - so please take this avenue for faster resolution. This applies primarily to Atlas, Kato, Rapido Trains and InterMountain.
Most images used on this site are from the manufacturers own catalogue or website and belong the property of their respective owners. They may not accurately represent the actual product, but provide a general overview of the product. In cases of rolling stock - the images may contain models with different roadnumbers than the items in stock, but reflect the product being offered. Manufacturers may change the item or change the quantity included in their packages at any time. I try to update the website when I receive new stock that differs from the previous stock, but sometimes I may not notice the change. Detail Associates has been decreasing the quantities in the package and increasing prices as well. Sometimes I have a mix of old and new stock. The prices are based on the current list price and the quantities listed on the website will usually reflect the new quantity as well when I have mixed stock - so if you place an order for Detail Associates items - you might end up with a mix of new and old packages - with some of the old packages having more than the quantity indicated on the website.
Customers outside Canada are responsible for any customs duties, taxes or any other charges that their Government may impose on the importation of their order. Canadian residents will be charged the appropriate GST/HST as required by law.
All access to the website is via HTTPS. None of your personal information is shared with anyone else. All credit card data is encrypted and is deleted once your order is processed. Credit cards ARE NOT processed at the time you place your order - we manually enter your information into our POS terminal, this is why we cannot accept debit cards - including VISA/MC debit and most VISA/MC giftcards. Please note that your browser must accept cookies in order to process your order and only cookies required to process your order are set.
Reward points: All customers earn 1 reward point for each dollar you spend ( excluding taxes and shipping charges ). Each reward point is forth 4 cents on future orders. Reward points DO NOT expire - so you can either use them on your next order or save them up . Points cannot be applied to shipping charges. You must place your order as a CUSTOMER and not a guest if you want to earn points and be able to redeem them at a later date. If you place your order as a guest - your points do not accumulate and are not usable on future orders. I may be able to recover your points to your customer account from previous guest orders - please contact me if you have placed orders as a guest and now wish to have the points applied to your customer account.
Privacy Policy
Your personal information is not sold or given to anyone, with one exception - your phone number, email and delivery address is shared with Canada Post. Canada Post will only send you an email with the tracking information for your package. They will not send you any other emails beyond messages dealing directly with your package. You will receive emails during the processing of your order. Once your order has been packaged and shipped and you received the "Package is on the way" email, there will be not further emails from me, unless you contact me in case of an issue with your order, have asked a question or you have requested to be notified when an item is back in stock. We currently do not have a newsletter.
Cookies are required to place an order. Please note that if you use Google Chrome as your browser - Google may also add a cookie that tracks your movements on the website ( ssl.google-analytics.com ) - but Google claims it does not use any personal information. You may block this cookie without causing issues with placing an order.
Please note that I do have a full time Monday to Friday job - so order processing and email replies may not occur during the day Monday to Friday. I will respond as soon as I am able to do so.
